U confirms U S citizenship of graduate student convicted of espionage in Iran

This sentence comes as tensions between the United States and Iran are on the rise. The Iran nuclear deal, negotiated under the Obama administration, has not been met with favor under President Trump's administration. Trump has indicated his intention to possibly dismantle the deal.
