Mayo Clinic Hospital doctors said Saturday that McCain underwent a "minimally invasive" procedure to remove the Nearly 2-inch (5-centimeter) clot, and that the surgery went "very well." The Mayo Clinic in Arizona said in a statement that McCain had the procedure to remove the blood clot after a routine check-up. The surgeons removed the 5-centimeter blood clot by entering through his left eyebrow. The senator, who is 80, is back at home and "in good spirits," Clinic's statement said.
