Death toll of 29 surpasses Oakland Hills fire

The death toll from the various fires, which had burned nearly 300 square miles and still were threatening entire communities, matched the deadliest fire in California history, the 1933 Griffith Park Fire in Los Angeles. Officials said they expected to find more bodies in the coming days.
