Avalanche Fears Trap 13,000 Tourists At Popular Swiss Ski Resort On Tuesday, NBC News reported that some 13,000 tourists were trapped in a popular Swiss ski resort Zermatt Matterhorn for a second straight day, as officials warned of "very large dry avalanches." Police and operators in the area have closed roads leading in and out of the region on Monday morning. And all trains services were canceled through Monday night.
