Steve Bannon let loose in the pages of Michael Wolff's Trump White House exposé Fire and Fury, repeatedly firing off insults at Donald Trump , Jr. and, among other things, calling his 2016 meeting with Russian officials in Trump Tower "treasonous." Even as his former boss Donald Trump continues to decry the "Fake Book," , Bannon's comments had an impact; Trump took to calling him "Sloppy Steve," , and billionaire Rebekah Mercer, who has funded Breitbart in the past, publicly rebuked him . At some point it became too much for Bannon, who gave a Sunday morning statement to Axios that included an apology to Trump's oldest son.
